The Downfall of this Fine Nation

Apparently, Franklin Mint is going to be issuing quarters with the Silver Surfer on them to promote the new Fantastic Four movie. I'm not so much bothered by the fact that a superhero is given the same importance in American history as George Washington and Abraham Lincoln as by the fact that it's a mediocre superhero connected to what will surely be a crappy superhero movie.

Is that a joke? Because seriously. SERIOUSLY.

I can't seem to find a credible source of this, so I'm seriously doubting it's true...cause if it is true, it's got to be the last sign of the apocalypse.

Stinks like an urban myth

I mean, really, Hell Boy deserves to be on a quarter more than Silver Surfer.

They're gonna put Hell Boy on the penny.

Well, that's absurd. However. If there is an element of truth to it, I really wouldn't complain about being one of the first four to report a Silver Surfer quarter sighting.

O ye of little faith. Need you a more credible source than me?

I'll have you know that Newsarama has been giving me reliable comics-related news for more than half a decade.

And if I know my Marvel mythology well (and I don't), the Silver Surfer's coming really may be the last sign of the apocalypse, as he's the herald of Galactus, who's a really big guy who wears purple and eats planets or some such.

Okay, that comment published funny, but I don't feel like redoing it. Click on the link for your proof. Because really, would movie producers lie?

I take it back. I'm going to buy some saran wrap and 70 rolls of duct tape. The world is ending.
