I have reason to believe that the preschool we're sending S-Boogie to is a Soviet brainwashing facility. She learned a song there the other day and she's been singing it all morning:
Little red babushka, ka
Little red babushka, ka
Little red babushka, ka
Behind the train.

Nice. See, Seattle just gets more awesome all the time. Socialism, a whole lot of rain, wacky urbanites, great food, and so much more. I wonder if I could convince my wife to move there.
In the words of Sam Roberts:
S-O-C-I-A-L-I-S-M is the only way.
.
Alarming!
Do you think that maybe she is misinterpreting the song "The Little Red Caboose?"
"Little red caboose, little red caboose
Little red caboose behind the train"
"Smoke stack on it's back
Comin' down the track
Little red caboose behind the train"
Hey, at least she's not in front of the train (channeling Anna Karenina).
hmm... dyevchonka znaet stol'ko mnogo... i ey tol'ko 3 goda. nam shto-to nado dyelat'...
the little girl knows too much...
your are very close to those pesky Canadians and their Pinko ways. It could be their social attitude is being transmitted south.
"when all else fails, blame Canada" eh!
A communist baby is a cute baby.
One child in our family used to sing it sounding like: "Lick a red caboose, Lick a red caboose..."
You understand, of course, that unless S-Boogie can carry a tune perfectly the brainwashing won't work. It's all about the cadential sequence and has nothing to do with little red Russian headscarves left on train tracks...although why they are left there does give one pause...and where did they come from...and to what are they attached...
I think you should be more concerned about implied violence. Unless they also serve really good Russian food and vodka at the preschool while they sing. If that's the case, I think I should enroll. I sing pretty well...even Soviet brainwashing songs.
At least she isn't singing about Jesus or some crap like that.
