And speaking of librarianship...
On Friday I worked at the reference desk at my old new job for the first time. For three hours I answered fascinating, challenging questions about Norwegian scholarly journals and Freudian psychoanalytical studies and academic research methods and I LOVED it. For hours aftwerward I floated on a high from the geeky dope of reference librarianship. I'm really torn now between the scholarly, stretch-my-mind appeal of academic libraries and the socialistic, free-information-for-all appeal of public libraries.

Can you do both? I know a couple of librarians who have a full-time job at one type of library and occasionally work a shift at another.
