Cream Soda With a Kick

My new mouthwash is vanilla mint flavored. It tastes like cream soda. Cream soda with 21.6% alcohol, that is.

DISCLAIMER: I don't actually know what "alcohol (21.6%)" in the ingredients list means. Does that mean that 21.6% of the liquid content is alcohol? Is that a lot? Not that I'm hoping to get drunk on mouthwash...

Yep, 21.6% of it is alcohol. When something says it's "50 proof", then half the "proof" is the actual alcohol content. In this case, 25%.

A friend of mine who served his mission up in Canada said that some natives will buy Listerine to get drunk when they can't afford traditional booze.

I also recently got the vanilla mint mouthwash.. and yep. Cream soda.

That's just not right!

If you were interested in getting drunk on anything, I'd recommend daiquiris over anything. Rum rocks (when it's properly diluted). Not that you are or should be interested in alcoholic drinks. . .

21.6% means that if your two-year-old drinks it (or spills it all over herself and you're not sure how much she ingested), you need to get to the ER pronto, because alcohol poisoning is especially dangerous in kids.

Also, it is very funny when, at the ER, while observing your child for symptoms of aforementioned scary alcohol poisoning, a resident decides to see if he can teach a two-year-old to blow into the breathalyzer.

Don't ask me how I know this
