Heartwarming Teaching Moments with Mr. Fob

The scene: Dinner at the Fobcave.

S-Boogie: Rolls are rolls.

Mr. Fob: Really?

S-Boogie: Yeah. Everything is everything.

Mr. Fob: That's what Lauryn Hill says.

S-Boogie: Who's Lauryn Hill?

Mr. Fob puts The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill in the CD player and plays "Everything is Everything," then shows S-Boogie the pictures of Ms. Hill on the CD cover. They share A Moment.

Excuse me while I wipe a tear from my eye.

and when your daughter gets older, you might have moment like this:

playing scrabulous with my daughter, i see that she has played "hob." i have a "p" and i think, "phob... phob... i know that's a word, i've heard it before, give me a minute, i'm sure i can think of where I heard it...

That is funny. Was that a real conversation? The only CD that I have of Lauren Hill is the single of "Everything is Everything". I really liked that song - along with "Killing me Softly" which I had on a "slow jams" cassette tape :). But I think my favorite ever is "Eye on the Sparrow" that she sang on Sister Act.

The entire Miseducation album really is worth owning. I also really like "His Eye is on the Sparrow."
