It's probably wrong that I find it more tragic when something like this happens to a famous person,

but for some reason I do.

  1. Maybe it's just that it's a more familiar face experiencing the tragedy, so there's more of an emotional connection for me to make.

  3. I think we'd be frozen in terror and grief if we took in all such tragedy. In a way, the famous cases can be representative for all the strangers. Or at least that's how I justify that, being upset about what makes the news but not being similarly moved by what else goes on under the media radar.

  5. Okay, I don't feel so bad now for having feeling more sympathy for famous people. And I still feel horrible for her and her family. She was on the one season of American Idol that I watched and I liked her then, and then I was even more impressed when I saw her in Dreamgirls. I can't imagine what she's going through now.
