When you reference your published essays on your resume, potential employers--particularly those who are librarians--actually look them up and read them. Which makes coming out to your boss sort of anti-climactic.
Although, if I were to come out to my employer, I could then join one of their diversity groups. They have diversity groups based on race, gender, and sexual orientation. But, being a white male, I'm one of the employees not represented by a diversity group.
Especially if they were building up to The Revelation as part of an interview.
