by a pleasant chime and a little pop-up window in the bottom right corner of my screen that I have a new email message. I know that this is the email sent automatically every time someone posts a comment on my blog, in this case that someone being myself, but still I can't suppress the giddy feeling I get at the thought of a new email.
What's a prat?
ReplyDeleteEven thought I'm not entirely sure what a prat is, I think it's bad. I don't think you're bad. Well, maybe in the ultra-cool definition of the word. I don't think you're deluded or self-righteous. I think that you, like the rest of the world, are pretty normal. The problem is that most people don't admit that having problems and struggles is normal. Most people would rather believe that NOT ever questioning things and doubting is normal.
I'm just sending a comment so you get a new message ping and can be happy. I'm good that way. ;)
ReplyDeleteSee, what really does it for me is a new comment. Even if it's a really nasty comment, detailing the writer's hatred of my blog, my face, and my very existence. At least it's acknowledgement.
ReplyDeleteI love the Instant Message chime, I get giddy to see that someone wants to talk to me!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, I turn off all chiming and dinging and auditory notifications on my computer, as it annoys me to have my music interrupted. Of course, this results in me checking my emails, my blogs, other peoples blogs, and my IM contact list about 5,000 times a day. Perhaps not quite that much, but more than I ought to. Particularly while I'm at work.
ReplyDeleteI ran across your blog entirely by accident while I was randomly following links in other people's blog lists that I had found by other people's blog reading list links. Unfortunately, being at work and bored, I took the time to read a few entries, and discovered that not only do you seem to be quite an interesting person (just like all the people that comment on your blog) but I also quite like your writing style. Now that I've read all your blog entries and their comments back through October in the past couple of days, I figured I might as well introduce myself rather than just lurking.
Hello.
Sometimes it feels good to know people are paying attention to you.
ReplyDeleteNew comment! Chime! Master Fob feels validated once again!
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading, Kirsa. And thanks everyone for the validation.
