How to Play
- As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember.
- Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. If you leave a memory about me, I'll check your blog to see if you are playing, too. If you are I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.
I've been trying to think of the ultimate memory I have of you. I was leaning toward the circumcision discussion, but have instead opted to go with the first dinner where we actually met. And I helped you achieve one of your new year's resolutions. You know . . . that whole six-pack one?
ReplyDeleteAnd I never did another crunch again.
ReplyDeleteMy best memories with you come from back in the days when we were both trying keep our marriages in working order to the best of our ability from opposite perspectives.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all those emails and comments that helped me to keep going when it got tough (even though I bailed eventually anyway)
:)
Actually, I like the standing-in-the-street-talking-when-we're-supposed-to-be-sleeping memory, too. But the memory I'll share is one you're probably not aware of (and it's long).
ReplyDeleteA couple of years ago I clicked on a link on a sidebar (not on your blog) which took me to a forum. I wanted to know more about the forum, and it asked me to register--so I did. Then I was told that I couldn't be a member until someone within the forum, who knew me, vouched for me. So I closed the window and forgot about it. The next morning I had an email telling me that I'd been accepted into the forum simply because I was friends with you and with Tolkien Boy. Until that moment I had no idea you were so powerful. I always thought I was the one with connections...I bow to your greater connectivity...I know when I am in the virtual presence of greatness...
I remember it just like it was yesterday. You were sitting right where I'm sitting now and we were having the most exciting conversation about lesbian vampires, defensive detachment, and if shortening a person's fingers would make them gay, just before I rushed you out. Ah, memories.
ReplyDeleteThe Trifle Incident. Need I say more?
ReplyDeleteCricket--Thanks to you for the same.
ReplyDeleteSam--The funny thing there is that I was active on that board for like a week. I think my credibility came mostly from my status as TB and Melyngoch's friend.
Scot--That's funny, I remember it like it was three days ago.
Tusk--We don't talk about the Trifle Incident.
Mr. Fob, your credibility on that (former?) forum came from your blog and how much people on there like it. At least, with me, anyway!
ReplyDeleteJB--Thanks!
